About SSC Stenographer Grade C & D Exam 2025
The Staff Selection Commission conducts this national-level exam to recruit stenographers for central government offices. Grade C posts are higher-level positions usually based in Delhi’s central ministries, while Grade D roles are clerical or assistant-level jobs often located in regional or field offices.
Vacancy Details & Eligibility
- Total Vacancies: 261
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board.
- Nationality: Indian citizen as per SSC norms.
- Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025):
- Grade C: 18 to 30 years
- Grade D: 18 to 27 years
- Gender Restriction: Only male candidates can apply for Grade D posts under the Border Roads Organization (BRO).
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD (Unreserved): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years (after deduction of service period)
- Central Govt Employees (UR): Up to 40 years
- Widows/Divorced Women (UR): Up to 35 years

Expected Salary
- Grade C: ₹50,682 – ₹60,000 per month (Basic Pay ₹35,400 + Grade Pay ₹4,200/₹4,600 plus allowances)
- Grade D: ₹36,000 – ₹43,500 per month (Basic Pay ₹25,500 + Grade Pay ₹2,400 plus allowances)
